I used to play a lot of video games, especially Mario games on the N64. I don't play them much anymore! I can't really find the time to! :)
Thank you, I'm so glad you like it! A lot of new music is on the way. :)
If I ever do a world tour, I would definitely stop by Belgium! Thank you :)
Hi Laura, been a fan since "Dreams" with Rogue came out, I love every song on your new ep!
Lately I've been struggling with fitting vocals into a song, and I'd love to know how you treat vocal processing after recording them.
I don't do too much to the vocals, I like to keep them as natural as possible because I don't like it when you can hear that it's been overly processed. I like to adjust the EQ to help it sit with the instrumental as best I can, a little bit of compression to help with the volume, add a good amount of reverb, and not much else! The most important thing about the vocals is the actual performance and getting a clean, quality recording of them.
If you are very interested in learning it, it won't be too difficult. It's like learning a language though, so it will require continuous practice for it to sink in. I learned as a child while I was taking piano lessons and it didn't take very long!
Hey Laura! Didn't see your AMA till it was too late so thought I'd ask my questions here!
Any dream collabs?
What're your favorite songs you've worked on?
Favorite artists to work with?
You're one of my favorite vocalists so thank you for making awesome music!
Some dream collabs would include: Imogen Heap, Royksopp, Zedd, and many others!
It's difficult to pick favorite songs I've done and artists I've worked with because there have been so many, and I like them all for different reasons. However, I would say that I enjoy songs that mix both electronic and acoustic together such as the 'Future Holds' EP and "Don't Wait". :)
Thanks for listening to my music!
I've loved following you for a while and seeing your snaps!
The only real question I have is: Is it ok if I use your music for video montages for esports and gaming videos?
Not looking to make money out of it, just wanting to have fun!
Sure, as long as you are crediting the songs! Thanks :)
How did you get into electronic music? I've listened to a lot of your music and you have some really great acoustic, guitar-based music, which is also beautiful by the way ^_^ . You are probably my favorite electronic singer and I love the variation in genres that you experiment with, but I was just wondering how you got your break into 'electronic' music. Thank you so much!
Hi! I got into electronic music because I started doing vocals for local DJ/producers in Denver, Colorado after I had already done my acoustic music for quite some time. I then started posting them on SoundCloud and it got the attention of other producers, eventually landing me a release on Monstercat!
Many different things! I'll try to summarize: life experiences, emotions, dreams, other music and forms of art, love, films, books, people, etc.
I don't really have question for you but if you get to read this i'd like say that your voice is absolutely amazing. Very relaxing and refreshing. keep doing what you do. i listen to your songs when i am tired or feeling low and it helped me every time to get back up. I am in love with your voice. :D good luck and take care!
Thank you! I'm glad you enjoy it. :)
